Oh, this one is quite different! My first Caron.

It opens with a punch of flowers, orange and peppery coriander in your face. The vibe is very old-fashion - not 70s old-fashion but I suppose more like 40-50s old-fashioned. You might be tempted to wash it off immediately as I was but don't rush, give Caron a chance. It does deserve it!

Montaigne does some interesting development on skin and in about 20 minutes it becomes a much softer and rounder fragrance, much more modern, still bold but well balanced. To me it is an amber bomb with mimosa, coriander, orange and sandal. It is quite synthetic but nevertheless very enjoyable. The base notes stay long and feel almost eatable, remind me very much of the long dry down of Prada Amber. The same synthetic sweetened vanillic amber with sandal.

This fragrance may take a couple approaches before you start liking it. It is very affordable and worth of a try if you like amber/sandal/vanilla/orange type of perfumes. Not the most sophisticated one but very likable and cosy. I would suggest to spray 20-30 min before you are going out. The projection is moderate to soft, the longevity is decent.
